Future Plans

One thing at Meerkat Sound is that we are always building to be better than the average sound guy. With that in mind we are building expandable PA rigs that can accommodate many of different situations that may come before us. One of you goals is to be able to support crowds support upwards of 1500 people if not more inside a venue.

For 750-1500 person crowds, we are looking at the following system; 2 EAW KF650 (mains) stacked on top of 3-4 JBL SRX728 (subs) per side and using the Crown IT4000 & IT 8000 amps to power the rig.

For 200-750 person crowds, we have started building a 1-2 ElectroVoice QRx212 (mains) stacked on top of 1-3 SRX728s (subs) per side powered with Crown IT amps.

For the monitor system we have started building a rig based around the JBL MRX512m and Crown XTi4000s.

At FOH and/or on Monitors we are looking at both the Analog and Digital solutions. For digital mixers, we have the Yamaha LS9-32 for 32 inputs and 16 outputs before adding a pair of MY-16AT card which can be used for recording 32 tracks digitally. While everyone isn't into digital mixers, we will have an analog board with plenty of processing; currently we have an Allen & Heath GL2000-324 as our desk of choice; but also looking at adding the Allen & Heath GL2800M.
